Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve - Sand in Our Hair

I visited this park in 2004, while it was still a national monument. Since then, it has acquired national park status and constructed a new visitor's center. In June of 2006, Mitchell and I stopped by on our way home from The Point, but it was raining and windy, so we decided to return on this, our next vacation together. This time the weather was great, and we were able to hike to the top of High Dune, and camp two nights in the Piñon Flats campground.
