This excellent alpine Colorado hike climbs to nearly 10,000 feet above sea level in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There is ample evidence of wildlife, including bear and mountain lion, along the route. Near the top I was turned away by what was apparently a large outcropping of poison ivy, rare above 9000 feet, but I wasn't willing to risk going further.
